学校简介
南安普顿大学（University of Southampton），世界百强名校，英国常春藤名校联盟“罗素大学集团”成员，世界大学联盟成员。创办于1862年，前身是Hartley学院，到了1952年正式获得皇家授权成为大学，并于1996年收并全英最著名的艺术院校——温彻斯特艺术学院（Winchester School of Art）。南安普顿大学建校至今培养了包括参与设计因特尔奔腾处理器的约翰·海德（John Hyde），诺贝尔奖得主克里斯托弗·皮萨里德斯等众多知名人士。“互联网之父”蒂姆·伯纳斯·李（Tim Berners-Lee）现担任学校计算机科学学院教授。南安普顿大学在2014/15QS世界大学排名上位居英国本国第17位，世界第94位。
